The Algarve offers fantastic diving locations, with reefs, caves, underwater rock formations and ship wrecks in crystal clear waters it’s the perfect place to learn to scuba dive!
Boasting plenty of sealife you’ll meet octupuses, scorpion fish, moray eeels, congars, cuttlefish and you will often see seahorses, triggerfish, spiny lobsters, spider crabs, lobsters, squids and more on your dives.
Boat Diving sites include the volcanic rocks at Rocha Negra, reefs at Porto do Mos and Rondao do Alvor, underwater rock formations at Pedras Altas, a reef full of old anchors and caves at Ancora and the Se Vapor wreck, an 80m boat sunk by the Germans.
Dives are at depths of 8m – 32 m. Visibility is typically 5m – 15m but can easily reach 20m depending on current and wind. There is all year round diving in the Algarve in 7mm wetsuits with sea temperature never droping below 14° C even in winter and warming up to 22° C in summer.
